What does counselling offer me?
Counselling offers the space to talk confidentially about your issues and to explore a difficulty you are having, the distress you may be experiencing or perhaps your dissatisfaction with life, or loss of direction and purpose. It offers you a place of safety for making choices and changes.
In our initial session, we will discuss how we will work together, how often we will meet and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
I will listen attentively and patiently to enable me to understand your difficulties and work can together to see things more clearly from possibly a different perspective. Together we can explore various aspects of your life and feelings, talking about them freely and openly in a way that is rarely possible with friends or family. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief and embarrassment can become very intense and counselling offers an opportunity to explore them and possibly making them easier to understand. Then we can examine in detail the behaviour or situations which are proving troublesome and to find an area where it would be possible to initiate some change as a start and look at future options that are open to you.
I look forward to hearing from you and working together.
